HYNES, Edward T. 85, lifelong resident of Norwood, died at home Saturday morning, June 17, 2017. Son of the late Patrick and Ellen (Connelly) Hynes. Beloved husband of the late M. Barbara (Mitchell) Hynes. Devoted father of Edward M. Hynes of Walpole, Margaret "Peg" Hynes of Norwood, and the late Mary E. Nellis and her husband Thomas, and Virginia Hynes. Loving grandfather of Marissa Dwinnells, and Thomas, Sean, and Patrick Nellis. Brother of the late Patrick, John, Mary, Richard, Thomas, Paul, and Robert. Brother in-law of Anne Hynes of Auburndale. Also survived by many nieces...

HYNES, Edward T. 85, lifelong resident of Norwood, died at home Saturday morning, June 17, 2017. Son of the late Patrick and Ellen (Connelly) Hynes. Beloved husband of the late M. Barbara (Mitchell) Hynes. Devoted father of Edward M. Hynes of Walpole, Margaret "Peg" Hynes of Norwood, and the late Mary E. Nellis and her husband Thomas, and Virginia Hynes. Loving grandfather of Marissa Dwinnells, and Thomas, Sean, and Patrick Nellis. Brother of the late Patrick, John, Mary, Richard, Thomas, Paul, and Robert. Brother in-law of Anne Hynes of Auburndale. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Edward was a 1950 Graduate of Norwood High School, and was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Vet. He was a Letter Carrier for over 40 years for the United States Postal Service in Norwood. He was a member of the Norwood Knights of Columbus, and the Norwood Retired Men's Club. He volunteered for many years for the K of C Bingo, and enjoyed playing bocce and travelling with his friends at the Retired Men's Club. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Timothy's Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, June 27th from 4:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
